Conversation of the Day: Is Blogging a Step Backward?

Akiva: "I keep thinking that I need to get back to blogging but then I think of how it seems like a step backward from what I'm doing here. Is the only difference really a personal domain and the ability to have longer posts? I have a thousand subscribers here; why start over?"

Great thread on Friendfeed. Seems to me like he doesn't need to start over since he can use Posterous to optimize all his hubs. I suspect other platforms will follow. If you're on my site, I have embedded it below.

Conversation of the Day: Is Twitter "Awful?"

Here's an Interesting discussion found on Friendfeed - a perspective (not mine) on why Twitter is awful. The reasons, says the writer, is that it's substantiveless, turning into MySpace, confusing and infected by celebrities. More below in the embed or here.

Today's Top Conversation: When Did You First Discover the Internet?

I'm adding a new semi-regular feature to the stream called "Today's Top Conversation." These will be pulled from Friendfeed via a widget, as described here.

Today's topic: When did you discover the Internet and what were your first impressions?

For me it was 1995 when I first browsed the Godiva.com web site at the campus computer lab at Brandeis University, where I was visiting.
