Michael Jackson's Death Dominates Google Trends

Take a look at this screen shot, which pulled off this Google Trends page at 9 pm Eastern - the night of Michael Jackon's death. Google Trends tends to lag by an hour or two but you can see what a huge impact this story had on search. Virtually every one of these keywords can be tied to the Michael Jackson story. The other big story of the day, the death of Farah Fawcett also is represented - barely. But almost all the searches are tied to the big story.

I was amazed when after 10 seconds of scanning an MJ trending topic a few hours after his death over 4,000 new responses were added to the queue. Amazing!
