Maybe Chris Anderson is Right

Can't argue with this...the top five Kindle books this morning are all free titles, including his. Good thing Sir Arthur isn't looking for royalties.

Well, once we got the first part --free-- now we'll have to see if he's right in the difficult part of the equation: that's it's possible to make a living out of it. He might, of course (I'm pretty sure he will). The question is whether it's a model that can be sustainable for just about anyone, as he claims.

On the contrary: He is wrong in the most CRUCIAL parts, and he refuses to respond to my questions - see http://sn.im/anderson-free

I know, Norbert. Concession on him being right on the 1st part was a rhetorical way to shine light on the 2nd part, where he clearly isn't...

"Top Sellers" is a bit of a misnomer. I've "purchased" all of these book, have read none of them yet, and only got them because they were free. What is the economic lesson here? That people will take free stuff when its put in front of them? I'm hardly shocked.

That's fantastic FREE LOL! Go Chris Anderson!

That "free" debate is just a metaphor, it works in some specific cases

Not free anymore. 9.99USD. Wonder if that changes his argument - Free for you, Money for me?
